Planning is a key to success in most aspects of life, especially when talking about Construction Projects. Planning must start early and incorporate things such as: strategic plans, programming, needs and opportunities of those using the space, health and safety (mentally and physically), efficiencies and cost savings.

Collaboration is the key to bringing all aspects of the Project together. Through collaboration, all Project team members gain an understanding of the owner’s objectives, the design intent and overall plan for executing construction.

Communication is key from design through close out. To effectively collaborate, communication among all parties must be a priority. Effective communication will lead to a Project scope that meets the needs of the clients and those using the space while staying within budget. Communication among the Project team, including contractors, will lead to a successful construction phase and close out.

To achieve a successful Project, the Project team must continuously monitor how effectively they are communicating and collaborating. In addition, during the construction phase, it is critical to monitor any concerns, needs, unforeseen conditions and market volatility and adjust accordingly to stay within budget, on schedule and assure quality.
